… as you’ve probably figured, if you’ve been following the evolution of this site!
I’m continually trying to refine the scope of my services, to help clients understand what I do and how I can add value. Story has always been my main tool for communications, research, learning and facilitation – so I’m working on trying to build my practice more specifically around story-based approaches.
The goal of my work is still to facilitate change- directly or indirectly. If you think about it, learning is change. You can’t have one without the other. To change is to think or act differently – which means you need to learn how. To learn is to change what you know – which will translate into change in how you think or act.
Clear as mud?
The bottom line is that I want to help people share their knowledge and expertise for whatever reason – and I think that story-sharing is a powerful (and under-utilized) way to do that. Through the Watershed, I’ll be sharing knowledge by telling stories via things like videos and written articles – and helping others meet their goals by facilitating activities that use story for research, communication and knowledge construction.
